William Edward Webb, Sr.

William Edward Webb, Sr. was the beloved husband of 63 years to Barbara (nee Jedresik); the loving father of William E. Jr., retired C.PD. (Diana), late Julianne, Valerie (William) Drobitsch, and Joseph, retired C.P.D. (Sandra); dear Grandpa of Angela, William, Ellen, Nathan, Madelyn, Leena, Zachary, Seth, Corbin, and Jillian; great-grandpa of Edward, Theo, Rosalie, Charlotte, Winifred, Marigold,  and Josephine; brother of the late Sylvia (late Donald) Myers and late Sidney (Carol); son of the late Rushton and late Geraldine (nee Hargett); uncle of many nieces and nephews; friend of many.

Bill was a postal worker for over 30 years who rode his bike to work! He loved to walk, fish, and swim, and was the first to swim 50 miles in the Red Cross program at McGuane Park. He loved the water so much , Bill was a sailor and member of the Jackson Park Yacht Club. Bill was an active member of St. Barbara parish and head of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Holy Name Society, usher, bingo caller,  singer in the men's choir, and member of the 6am Breakfast Club (meeting every Sunday after the 6am Mass.) In addition, he was the former Grand Knight of the Archbishop Quigley Council #2428 and District Deputy for the K. of C. for the state of Illinois.

Family and friends will gather Friday, December 20, 2024 from 9:00 to 11:00 am for visitation at St. Barbara Church, 2859 South Throop Street, Chicago. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am. INT Resurrection Cemetery. (773)927-6424.
