Roman Witkowski

Roman A. Witkowski, 93, the son of the late Valentine and late Stella; loving husband of the late Theresa (nee Novak); cherished father of Donna Murray, Janice (Mark) Racinowski, Deborah (Mark) Vetos, and David Roman Witkowski; dear grandfather to Joel Murray, James (Trisha) Firneno, Jacqueline Murray, George Murray,  Markie Racinowski, and Jessie Racinowski; Great-grandfather to Jason "JJ" Murray and Roman Firneno.

Roman is retired from the City of Chicago Sewer Department and a WWII Navy Veteran.

Private family services will be held at Pomierski Funeral Home,1059 West 32nd  Street. INT. St. Mary Cemetery. A memorial mass for family and friends to gather will be celebrated at St. Mary of Perpetual Help Church at a later date, when CDC restrictions will permit.

The Witkowski Family appreciates your prayers and support at this most difficult time, as Roman's death occurred during the restrictions and precautions of Coronavirus. They look forward to honoring his life with a Memorial Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary of Perpetual Help Church when restrictions have been lifted. When the scheduled date is finalized, this obituary will updated, as well as The Bridgeport News.

Roman is the dear, loving and caring father of The Bridgeport News' editor, Janice Racinowski.She and her siblings, Donna, Deborah, and David, were blessed with "the best Dad ever. He was the family's Superhero...one who we were so proud to call Dad and could always look up to for guidance, wisdom, and most of all, love. Now our hearts are heavy in sorrow and it is hard to put into words how much we will miss him.  We have comfort in knowing he is reunited with his loving wife, Theresa, our dear mother, and know that from above they still will be watching over and guiding us. We will cherish the many memories from his 93 years here on earth and he will live forever in our hearts.
