Raymond John Polakowski

Raymond “Ray” Polakowski, 63, passed away on May 21, 2023.

Ray was a member of the carpenters’ union for many years. His true passion was auto body repair. A lifelong resident of Bridgeport, friends of Ray could find him at Emil’s body shop or in his garage. He always had a project to work. If you wanted to lend a hand, he would truly appreciate it and share a cold one with ya.

Many people do not know this side of Ray, but he was a bit of a fashionista. This was evident by the number of watches, clothing, and cars he owned. Those that knew him in his younger days as “Regal Ray” will understand.

His proudest accomplishment was his daughter Rachel. He cared deeply about his family. Sometimes he had a hard time showing it but he always had good intentions. He looked out for them in very special ways, whether that was making sure the pool was ready for everyone on a hot summer day or tending to the yard so the kids had somewhere to play. We take comfort knowing he is reunited with his mother and sister, whom he missed deeply. Ray is the loving son of Raymond and the late Irene (nee Laskowski); dear brother of Diane (Peter) Eberle, Linda Sanicki, and the late Karen; fond uncle; and friend of many.

Please join us to remember Ray and celebrate his life on Saturday May 27^th, from 3-9pm . A service will be held at 6:30 pm.
