John Shopkus

John Stanley Shopkus passed away February 12, 2025. He was the son of the late Edward, Sr. and late Stella (nee Gasparka), and loving brother of Edward, Jr.

John was a voracious reader and loved to travel. John's collection of books included many rare first editions. He filled 2 passports with his travels around the world, visiting France 12 times, Northern Ireland, Great Britain, Italy, Belize, Jamaica, and Belgium. He met Elton John in Venice, Paul McCartney in Jamaica, and notorious film maker Roman Polanski in Paris.

 He will be remembered at a memorial mass 4:00 pm  Saturday, March 22, 2025 at St. Mary of Perpetual Help Church, 1039 West 32nd Street, Chicago, IL 60608.
