Eileen J. Martinez

Eileen J. Martinez, of Chicago, Illinois, born September 6, 1936, at the age of 86, departed this earth June 15, 2023 to join her Heavenly Father, and reunite with her husband, Gerald Martinez. Eileen was a dedicated Catholic, homemaker and mother, survived by her five sons: Andrew Martinez (Sandy), Patrick Martinez, James Martinez, Joseph Martinez (Samantha), and Christopher Martinez (Lorena); grandchildren: Kate Martinez (Pat), Christina Martinez, Evan and Nate Martinez; and great-grandchildren Angela Morales and Jason Galvan.

Eileen loved animals, and took in many to care for until they were ready to be adopted. She loved plants and flowers. She sang in the church choir and shared her beautiful voice at home. She was strong in mind, body, heart, and spirit. She loved to read and write, and still wrote letters to family in the age of the internet. She loved a good laugh and looked for the good in all.

Visitation services will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 from 5 pm to 8 pm and Saturday , June 24 from 8 am to 9:15 am service at Pomierski Funeral Home 1059 W 32^nd St, Chicago, IL and funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church 2127 W 22^nd Place, Chicago, IL.  Interment Mt.
